Standards
|
Victoria English school will set and maintain high standards from both staff
and students. Learning can be enjoyable and fun. Enjoyment of school leads
to high motivation.
 |
Teamwork
|
We are learning
continuously. Children learn at school and at home. We believe in the
importance of teachers and families working together. We see parents as part
of the team. We believe in homework and we give the students advice on how
to work at home.
 |
Skills
|
Of prime importance are the basic
techniques of reading, writing and numbers. These are the basis of all other
learning. We believe in building on children's natural curiosity.
 |
Co-operation
|
Education is about more than academic
improvement. We want to produce responsible citizens of the future, who
understand and know about working with others.
 |
Individuals
|
Children are, of course,
individuals and we believe in developing each individual's strengths as well
as helping to remedy weaknesses.
|

|
Communications
|
We value regular communication with
families and we have regular parent evenings. We also welcome parents to
make an appointment whenever they wish to consult or discuss.
 |
Value
|
Our aim is to offer a genuine,
quality
British education at a reasonable cost.
 |
Partnership
|
We welcome parents to the school
continuously because we value their commitment. We have a thriving
Parent Teacher Association which has made generous
contributions to enhance the life and work of the school. The Annual
Victorian Fete is a landmark in the calendar of Sharjah.
 |
Resources
|
By providing the resources
necessary for good teaching, we will attract and maintain a staff of high
quality with a wealth of expertise and experience.
 |
Caring
|
We expect high
standards of conduct, the visitor will find a happy atmosphere and
courteous students. This is not an accident, it is a policy of which we are
all proud. All students have a class teacher who is responsible for their
general welfare. We have a full-time qualified
nurse, who is a valued member of the school community.
 |
Attendance
|
The school
calendar
lists all the holidays, term dates and special events. We expect full
attendance, unless prevented by illness. We do not encourage extensions to
holidays as this impedes student progress.
